Music Stories: Shop Sounds

At Wrensilva there is one obsession we all share: we love music.  Not a day goes by that there isn't vinyl spinning at Wrensilva headquarters.  Here's a quick look at some of our team members' favorite albums and what those albums have meant to them through the years.

Wrensilva record console with SpringsteenBorn to Run by Bruce Springsteen: The first time I heard Born to Run I was a 7 year old kid living on my family's farm in Chelsea, MI.  I was outside playing (or working) when I heard this music coming from my neighbor/best friend Kurt's house.  I remember dropping everything and running through the wheatfield towards the incredible sound.  I'd never heard anything like it before.  -Scott

Wrensilva stereo console with The StrokesIs This It by The Strokes: Years ago, I used to have an old '65 Mercury Comet with a hula girl on the dashboard.  That vehicle had so many problems, but I loved it.  Ramping over the smallest of hills made me feel like Daisy from Dukes of Hazard.  Anyway, the CD player was in the trunk, so this album played on repeat for much of the time I owned my Comet.  Is this It will forever be tied to that era of my life.  Just recently, I was somewhere and someone was playing this album and my mind was flooded with long forgotten memories. It's funny how music has the power to do that. I had to get it on vinyl. -Debra

Wrensilva turntable console Led ZeppelinLed Zeppelin IV - I remember being a kid growing up in Arkansas and listening to "Going to California" on repeat.  I'd listen to this song and dream about what life was like Out West.  Now I'm here living it, but I still love Arkansas and visit often. -Mitchel

Wrensilva record consoleVarious-  I spend a lot of my free time digging through record store crates for albums to add to my collection. Here are a few finds of which I'm the most proud. All "used, yet pristine condition" albums were found through luck and dedication to the dig at local record stores: Vinyl Junkies, Lou's, and M-Theory -Nick
